Kenny Mason Discusses His Admiration For Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III Sessions & More

Kenny Mason sits down with Hakeem Rowe from Our Generation Music for a one on one interview, which you can watch in full below.

From the 22:00 mark of their conversation, Kenny discusses his admiration for Lil Wayne, working with him on J.I.D‘s “Just In Time” song, Wayne being the reason why he started rapping, his mixtapes, and calls Weezy “the G.O.A.T. for sure”.

The Atlanta artist also explains why he believes Tunechi is “the Michael Jackson of rap music” and reveals his favorite Tune project is The Carter 3 mixtape (not the album). He goes on to detail this was the original Tha Carter III album before all of the songs got leaked, such as “Scarface“. Mason even adds that this unofficial project deserves more recognition as it had beats from Kanye West and Timbaland on it!

Chris Brown Recalls Himself & Lil Wayne Asking Busta Rhymes To Re-Record His Look At Me Now Verse

To promote his latest album, Breezy, Chris Brown sat down with the L.A. Leakers (Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk) from Power 106 for an interview that you can watch below.

During their conversation at the 29:55 mark, CB recalled himself and Lil Wayne asking Busta Rhymes to re-do his verse on the “Look At Me Now” single while they were all in a studio session at The Hit Factory with Timbaland.

“Busta gave me a verse at first and it was just cool. Wayne was like: ‘I don’t know.’ I was like: ‘Yo Bus, I need you to go in bro, just do your sh*t bro.’ He said: ‘alright motherf*cker!’ He was like: ‘I gotchu.’ He just went crazy.”

After Busta re-did his verse, this is then when Wayne decided to record a verse for “Look At Me Now“, which Breezy says was originally supposed to be just a mixtape song before he decided to place it on his F.A.M.E. album in 2011. The track is now 8x Platinum!

In their conversation, Pap revealed how the collaboration came together including how he reached out to both Tunechi for the verse and to Timbaland for the beat, which he says they both showed love to him.

While talking about the Thought I Was Gonna Stop” music video, the New York rapper also mentioned he has a “whole new respect for” Weezy for doing everything that he said he would do by pointing out how rare that is in the music industry today: “Big salute to Lil Wayne the G.O.A.T.”!
