Lil Wayne Had The Biggest Hip Hop Debut Of The Past Decade

Now that we are in a new decade, an amazing accomplishment for Lil Wayne has been revealed that involves the previous decade.

Between 2010 to 2020, Tunechi had the biggest hip-hop debut with pure sales inside the United States of America alone, so a big congratulations is in order for him!

By selling 964,000 copies in the very first week, Weezy has topped the list with his Tha Carter IV album beating out other albums, such as Views, Recovery, Nothing Was The Same, Take Care, Magna Carta Holy Grail, MBDTF, Watch The Throne, Pink Friday, and many more.

Lil Wayne & Drake Scrap Collabo Project x Weezy & Birdman Headline MTV2 Sucker Free Awards

Lil Wayne & Drake Scrap Collabo Project x Weezy & Birdman Headline MTV2 Sucker Free Awards

Earlier, Drake told XXL Magazine that him and Lil Wayne have agreed to scrap their joint project, because it would just be compared to Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne album every time. Drizzy is still planning to do a collabo mixtape with Rick Ross though, so I am sure we will see quite a few YMCMB and MMG collaborations on there!

“Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album,” Drake told XXL. “We just agreed that it would be looked upon as… It would be sort of this competition with Watch The Throne. I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. Wayne agreed. We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.'”

In other Weezy news, MTV recently announced that Tunechi and Birdman will be performing “Y.U. Mad” live at the first annual MTV2 Sucker Free Awards in Miami. The show, which will be hosted by Sway Calloway, will air on Sunday, December 4th at 11PM EST at the LIV Fontainebleau in South Beach.

Lil Wayne Has Not Heard ‘Watch The Throne’ And Is Not Satisfied With Nicki Minaj’s Work

Lil Wayne Has Not Heard Watch The Throne And Is Not Satisfied With Nicki Minajs Work

As we know, Lil Wayne was featured on the front cover of VIBE magazine’s October/November issue that is currently on newsstands now. If you haven’t already picked up the magazine, then here are a few more excerpts from Weezy‘s interview that you can read, courtesy of Complex.

On Watch The Throne:
“I haven’t heard the album. I’ll probably never hear the album.”

On Nicki Minaj:
“I’m not satisfied with anything she’s done. I believe she can do a whole lot more, and I believe she will do a whole lot more. It’s not shocking, and it’s not surprising. It’s quite fitting. But other than that, it’s nowhere near the end.”

On dealing with the tabloids:
“You don’t deal with it. You deal with life. You deal with what’s really going on and what’s really real—that’s your four kids, that’s your mother, that’s your family, that’s the people around you. You don’t deal with what people are saying.”

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV Breaks iTunes First Week Album Sales Record In Just Four Days

Lil Wayne Tha Carter IV Breaks iTunes First Week Album Sales Record In Just Four Days

In just four days, Lil Wayne has broke the iTunes first week album sales record with his Tha Carter IV album. Kanye West and Jay-Z were the previous holders of this record with “Watch The Throne”, but C4 has already sold over 300,000 copies digitally and it hasn’t even been a full week 😮

Lil Wayne remains unstoppable with his hotly anticipated, critically-acclaimed new album for Cash Money Records/Universal Republic Records, THA CARTER IV, breaking the iTunes record for first-week U.S. album sales in only four days with over 300,000 units sold. Lil Wayne breaks the record set only two weeks ago by Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Watch The Throne,” and held by Coldplay before that. – EON

This is great news for Wayne and us Wayniacs, but please do keep supporting the album and purchase C4 if you haven’t already bought it, because I know we all want Weezy to get them 1 million copies of Tha Carter IV sold first week ❗

Birdman Confirms Lil Wayne & Drake Collabo Album Is Coming

Birdman Confirms Lil Wayne & Drake Collabo Album Is Coming

Birdman recently confirmed with XXL that Lil Wayne and Drake will definitely be putting out a collabo album after both of their solo albums have dropped:

“Wayne and I recently talked about the Weezy/Drake collabo album,” Baby told XXLMag.com. “That’s definitely going to get done.”

Birdman promises that Wayne and Drake will offer up a different sound from that of Jay and ‘Ye.

“It’s older versus younger,” Baby said. “I listened to a few songs off Watch The Throne and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young. They young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So, it’s two different types of music all the way across the board.

“But what they’re doing is great,” he added. “I think it’s great for the game, great for the business, great for retail as a whole. I just think when Wayne and Drake get together is going to be something real special also because we more youthful.”

Weezy‘s Tha Carter IV drops on August 29th and Drizzy‘s Take Care drops on October 24th!
