Lil Wayne Appears On I Am Athlete, Talks Longevity, Legacy, Creativity, Rap & More

Lil Wayne was the recent special guest on episode 22 of “I Am Athlete“, which included him sitting down with former NFL players Brandon Marshall, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Adam “Pac-Man” Jones, as well as Omar Kelly for an interview.

During their sit-down talk, Wayne spoke about everything from longevity, if he wants to leave a legacy, evolving in music, seeing the potential in Nicki Minaj and Drake, recording 10,000 Bars with DJ Raj Smoove, and the early parts of his career.

Weezy also discussed his creativity, where he thinks rap is going, the new artists he is currently listening to (Baby Keem and Young Dolph), his artist Euro, what he thinks Aaron Rodgers will do with the Green Bay Packers, why he is a Packers fan, and much more.

Also in their conversation, Ochocinco challenged Tunechi to a rap cypher that included the rappers Lil Dred, Jag, Gorditoflo, Euro, and more. You can check it all out in the video after the jump below!

Young Dolph Reveals He Nearly Asked Lil Wayne To Feature On His To Be Honest Song

Young Dolph was a recent guest on Power 105.1 FM’s “The Breakfast Club” and chopped it up with DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne The God over Skype.

During their conversation just before the 15:00 mark, Dolph revealed he was close to hitting up Lil Wayne to be featured on the “To Be Honest” song off his new album, Rich Slave, which was released on August 14th of this month.

“I ain’t gonna lie, I was finna getting ready to reach out to Tunechi. I was gon’ hit Wayne and ask him to put a verse on ‘To Be Honest’, but I just didn’t do it.”

Tunechi admitted earlier this year that he is a big fan of the Memphis rapper, so I’m sure Tune would of sent a verse over to him no problem if he did ask! Would you like to see a collaboration from these two in the future?

For episode 24 of Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson‘s “All The Smoke” podcast, they had Lil Wayne as the special guest and chopped it up with him for around 25-minutes. At the start of the video, Stack called Wayne the “best rapper of all time” and his “favorite rapper” while towards the end, Matt mentioned he named one of his sons “Carter” after Tha Carter III album.

During their conversation, which you can watch below, Weezy spoke on how his family are currently doing with this coronavirus lockdown, how he has “been self-quarantining for years”, his mother Cita and brother Semaj being in New Orleans where the virus is “really bad” at the moment, N.O. legend 5th Ward Weebie possibly passing away from this virus, and maybe recording a theme song for “All The Smoke“.

Tunechi also revealed he is hitting the studio up everyday while in lockdown, has an unreleased song with a bar saying “ballin’ like Stack Jack”, his sports knowledge comes from his grandma Mercedes Carter, he used to play American football back in the day, how Kobe Bryant made an impact on him, his current favorite NBA players, he is currently listening to Lil Baby, XXXTentacion and Young Dolph, and wanting to do a live concert from home with 5-6 unreleased songs!
