The special guest for Season 3, Episode 2 of Lil Wayne and Apple Music’s “Young Money Radio” show, which broadcasted yesterday (April 18th), was Tony Hawk.
Wayne sat down with Tony for a one-on-one conversation about his journey as the first true celebrity in skateboarding.
They spoke about handling pressure, how skateboarding went mainstream, and what keeps Hawk motivated after decades in the sport.
Furthermore, the pro skateboarder opened up about pushing through serious injuries, early skate events, his very first X Games, and how different the game is for young skaters today.
Tony also defined the future of skating and what it meant to have the first skateboarding video game franchise.
The two of them discussed the “Pro Skater 3+4” remake, plus how Hawk feels about skateboarding being in the Olympics.
On a more personal note, Tony Hawk also shared his thoughts on fatherhood and what legacy means to him.
Tunechi shared a funny moment too: he recently found out skaters were getting copyright blocked for using his music.
Additionally, he said he didn’t even know, and that he would have cleared those songs for clips if anyone asked.
