Cortez Bryant & KY Engineering Recall Lil Wayne & Drake's Early Studio Sessions

The second part of CBC-TV‘s eight-part documentary series, Drake’s Plan, which explores the rise of one of Canada’s biggest success stories of the past decade in music, recently surfaced online.

In the clip, which you can check out below, Cortez Bryant, KY Engineering, Jeff Burroughs, and Jabbari Weekes all spoke to the camera about Drake solidifying himself as one of the biggest icons in the music industry.

Tez mentioned that once Drizzy Drake and Lil Wayne started making music together, he knew it was a wrap. KY also recalled Wayne telling him to record Drizzy after they just had a 16-hour studio session on the tour bus and after he heard the 6 God rap in the booth before getting ready to leave, Weezy decided to unpack his stuff and rap again!

Lil Wayne Appears In Jay Jones Late Nights Early Mornings Documentary

Jay Jones has released a new documentary called “Late Nights, Early Mornings”, which was directed by Flot and shot by B Dragon.

At the beginning and middle of the mini film, which you can watch below, Lil Wayne appears on FaceTime with Jay‘s father Ronald “J-Dawg” Jones.

There are also appearances from Mack Maine, actor Jason Mitchell, PJ Morton, Nesby Phips, Fee Banks, Jay Jones’ grandma, and more.

During the documentary, Jones revealed it is a dream for him to record music with Tunechi that he has not yet woke up from, as well as spoke on how Tune goes to the studio for 26 hours straight and then heads to the skate park!

YFL Kelvin Calls Lil Wayne One Of His Biggest Influences, Says His VH1 Documentary Made Him Want To Be A Rapper

YFL Kelvin recently sat down with 247HH for an interview that you can check out below.

During their conversation, Kelvin revealed that the rappers who inspired him the most are Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, 50 Cent and Dipset.

The Cleveland rapper then went into more detail about why Weezy is one of his biggest inspirations and that is because he came into the music industry hungry at a very young age.

Kelvin also recalled when Tunechi dropped his Da Drought mixtape around the same time that PSP (PlayStation Portable) came out and he used to play NBA 2K while listening to every Tune song. He even mentioned that watching Wayne‘s VH1 documentary about his life made him want to become a rapper!

Lil Wayne Teams Up With TIDAL To Release I Aint Shit Without You Tour Documentary

Not only did Lil Wayne partner up with TIDAL for his mini “I Ain’t Shit Without You” fan appreciation tour, he has also teamed up with the music streaming service to release a documentary.

The 10-minute documentary shows a behind the scenes look at Wayne and TIDAL‘s “I Ain’t Shit Without You” tour, which includes footage of Tunechi backstage at the shows, Tune performing live on stage, fans praising him, and plenty more.

Weezy hit up the cities Houston, Atlanta, Washington, and Chicago on his mini tour in December, 2018. If you a registered user of TIDAL, you can watch the full documentary in the video after the jump below. Non-registered members will only be able to watch a 1-minute preview!

Straight after Birdman posted a picture of him and Lil Wayne at LIV nightclub on early Monday morning, DJ Scoob Doo shared the same photo on his Instagram with an interesting caption that read:

“Free C5….Free Making of C5 & Nino Brown 3 directed by @djscoobdoo”

If you can recall, “The Nino Brown Story (Part 3)” is an unreleased documentary on Tunechi that will show his reaction to when he hears Drake’s verse from “Over” for the very first time, Justin Bieber spitting “A Milli” to Tune‘s face at the Grammys, a tour of his crib, and more.

It also looks like Scoob Doo has plenty more footage of Weezy from when he was recording Tha Carter V album that we will hopefully get to see once Wayne gets the green light to drop the album!

Earlier in the week, Birdman made his debut appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show” to promote his “Before Anythang: The Story Behind The Cash Money Records Empire” documentary.

While on the American talk show, Baby talked about his relationship with fiancee Toni Braxton, his 2 kids Brian and Bria, Nicki Minaj, and plenty more.

The #1 Stunna also had some stuff to say about Lil Wayne including how all of the tabloids are getting the story backwards about him stopping the release of Tha Carter V and owing Wayne $51 million.

However, Birdman revealed he can’t explain the situation as of right now but confirmed that at some point in time we will see both him and Weezy back working together again. You can see Baby‘s sit-down interview with Wendy Williams below!
