Over the weekend, Lil Wayne did a good deed and gave back to his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana by hosting a fun day for kids at Dave & Buster’s restaurant.

Weezy partnered up with Wilson Sporting Goods to pick sports equipment gifts for 150 kids between the ages of 12-years-old and 16-years-old to congratulate them for performing well in academics and community sports programs.

As it is #ThrowbackThursday today, we can check out a Lil Wayne interview with 97.9 The Box radio station in Houston, Texas from back in 2007 around Christmas time.

In the conversation, Weezy talked about his passion for rap, his tattoos including getting Jay Z’s “Lucky Me” song title tattooed on his neck and lyrics from the verse on his leg (he used them at the end of “Mr. Carter” too), creating his “Gossip” track, what he wanted for Christmas, what presents he bought his daughter Reginae Carter for Christmas, and much more.

Tunechi also discussed being too famous and how that effects his privacy, the white cup, his relationship with Karrine Steffans aka Superhead, what New Year’s resolution he had, appearing on “The Boondocks“, Stacey Dash, his thoughts on the GRAMMY Awards, and revealed his favorite collaborations at that moment in time were Natasha Bedingfield’s “Love Like This” remix and Playaz Circle’s “Duffle Bag Boys” single. San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan recently spoke on Lil Wayne sending him and his son Carter surprise gifts during a press conference, as well as if the origin of his son’s name is actually after Wayne.

The NFL coach revealed that Weezy‘s PR team reached out to wide receiver Pierre Garcon and asked him to give two signed posters and two signed CDs to his manager. Kyle also mentioned that it was really thoughtful Mr. Carter sent him the explicit version of Tha Carter IV and his son the edited version of Tha Carter III.

In May of this year, we found out that San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan named his son Carter after Lil Wayne, because he was “obsessed” with his music.

As soon as Weezy heard about this news, he sent Kyle and Carter signed copies of his Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV albums, as well as gave them both posters with a personal message on them.

Lil Wayne and Toya Wright threw a Sweet 16 birthday party for their daughter Reginae Carter, who turned sixteen on November 29th. The birthday bash, which was based on a winter white theme, took place on Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia.

For Nae‘s birthday gift, Weezy and Toya Wright bought her two luxury cars – a white Ferrari GTO and a red BMW X5. They also surprised her with live performances from Nicki Minaj, Rae Sremmurd, and We Are Toonz. Toya also mentioned that she had spent nearly $500,000 on this party!

Other guests who attended this Sweet 16 bash included Dhea, Jacida Carter, Dwayne Carter III, Neal Carter, Birdman, T.I., Lil Twist, Sarah Vivan, Nivea, Mike WiLL Made It, and more. MTV are also set to show what went down at this party on a special episode of their My Super Sweet 16 show.
