Hopsin Says He Took An L For His Past Hate On Lil Wayne + Calls Him An Amazing Rapper

During a recent Instagram Live session for his fans (watch below), Hopsin addressed his hate on Lil Wayne in the past.

The Los Angeles rapper says there has always been Wayne songs he loved even back when he made negative comments, as well as that he “can confidentially say Lil Wayne is an amazing rapper” and “the metaphors and punchlines are definitely really good”.

Hopsin goes on to admit he “took an L” for his comments and “was definitely sleeping” on Weezy, but reveals it was all because he was caught up in a wave of hating on anything mainstream at the time. However, Hopsin does mention that he now appreciates Tune after he has grown as a lyricist and got more into lyricism himself!

Lil Wayne Appears On A Hip Hop Edition Of Mean Tweets On Jimmy Kimmel Live

Remember back in 2013 when Lil Wayne appeared on a “Mean Tweets” segment during Jimmy Kimmel Live and was called a crabapple? Well, Wayne has now appeared on a new hip-hop edition of “Mean Tweets”.

During Thursday evening’s (August 9th) episode of Jimmy Kimmel, the Young Money founder read another terrible tweet about him on social media: “Lil Wayne is what happens what when you pour Four Loko on a gremlin.”

As well as Weezy, this new “Mean Tweets” skit also included 50 Cent, A$AP Rocky, Eve, Pusha T, Big Sean, Remy Ma, Rae Sremmurd, Anderson .Paak, DJ Khaled, Trippie Redd, Tyler The Creator, Logic, Awkwafina, Lil Yachty, Wale, Ty Dolla $ign, Yo Gotti, and T-Pain reading out hate tweets about themselves.

Earlier this month, T-Pain hosted an Instagram Live session to discuss his and Lil Wayne‘s amazing year in music back in 2007 and how they broke The Beatles’ record for the most No. 1s on Billboard.

In another clip from the Instagram Live session, Pain revealed he used to hate Wayne as he always wanted to be like him and that he was especially jealous of the 10,000 Bars song.

Mannie Fresh recently spoke to Genius over the phone to reveal how his “Hate” collaboration with Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Juvenile came to be, as well as how possible a new Hot Boys album is.

While explaining the “Hate” story, Mannie mentioned that not everything is resolved between Weezy and Baby. However, he told them that they can resolve their problems “behind the curtain, but for now, let’s make music for the people.”

Fresh also let loose that on the night they all recorded “Hate“, they also recorded four other songs “with that old Cash Money sound”. Though he went on to say that the hard part is going to be convincing them all to do a whole Hot Boys album!
