Cortez Bryant Reveals Lil Wayne Has A Scripted TV Series Based On His Gone Til November Book

We first heard about this last year, and now footage has surfaced online of Cortez Bryant and Matt Ferrigno teasing an upcoming Lil Wayne show that could possibly premiere on Netflix.

While talking at Midem 2019 in France, which you can watch below, Ferrigno discussed how platforms like Netflix are “dying to get more hip-hop content” and this would be a good thing for Tunechi to share his story on.

Tez then shushed Matt up and said it is coming within a year (so it should be this year as the interview was done in 2019). He also revealed the show would be a scripted television series based on the “Gone ‘Til November” journal that Weezy wrote while locked up in Rikers Island back in 2010.

Lil Wayne‘s “Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island” book has been out for 2 weeks now and in the memoir, there is a serious passage titled “Harshness” that you can read below, courtesy of Rolling Stone.

In the shocking passage, Wayne recalled contemplating suicide by writing he has never been so close to taking his own life before. He also mentioned that he had witnessed a kid while locked up trying to take his own life and how that opened up a new reality for him.

During their conversation, Weezy discussed why he wrote the book in jail, not planning to release it, what he hopes people will get out of reading it, if he keeps in touch with any of the inmates and C.O.’s, the celebrity visits he got while locked up, and getting the news that Drake had sexual relations with one of his girlfriends.

Tunechi also revealed his “retirement tweets” last month was him meaning that he is not going to be rapping on a certain type of beat no more, he will always drop mixtapes for us fans, and his relationship with Birdman:
