For #ThrowbackThursday today, here is an interview Lil Wayne took part in with Ozone magazine back in 2008 while inside of The Hit Factory Criteria Recording Studios in Miami, Florida.

In their convo, Weezy spoke about the new rock direction he was taking with his music, performing live with Kid Rock at the Country Music Awards, the important of Ozone in hip-hop, his first son Dwayne Michael Carter III being born, and more.

Tunechi also mentioned that there was 40 extra songs recorded for his Dedication 3 mixtape that were supposed to drop, but I am not exactly sure what happened to those? You can watch the #TBT conversation in the video below, enjoy!

I have picked the remix for Kid Rock‘s “All Summer Long” single featuring a verse from Lil Wayne for this week’s “Feature Friday” edition.

Unfortunately, this collaboration was never released in CD quality and so the only version available online of the “All Summer Long” remix is from when Kid and Wayne performed it live together at the 2008 MTV VMAs.

Yesterday, Lil Wayne made his very first appearance on Instagram Live (even though he has been on it before for Young Money Radio) by being a special guest on Fat Joe‘s new podcast titled “The Fat Joe Show“.

During their 28-minute conversation, Tunechi spoke on what age he first started rapping, shooting himself by accident, a white police officer named Uncle Bob who was off duty saving his life, meeting him years later in a restaurant, and what he thinks about the horrible murder of George Floyd by four cops in Minneapolis.

Weezy also discussed being locked up in Rikers Island for 8 months, getting his “never quit” attitude and drive from Birdman at a young age, his influence being the #1 Stunna, putting Drake and Nicki Minaj on, what he taught his son Kameron Carter after Nipsey Hussle was murdered, how proud he is about influencing a whole new generation of rap, an upcoming collaboration he has with Lil Uzi Vert, being the first to do the “rock-rap” genre of music, attending the late Betty Wright‘s funeral, performing “Sweet Home Alabama” with Kid Rock at the Country Music Association Awards, and much more!

Genius have give WorldStarHipHop a bonus clip from their interview with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz that took place backstage at the “TIDAL X: ColleGrove” concert in Atlanta, Georgia on March 30th.

In the video, Weezy tells a story to Tity Boi and Rob Markman about how Willie Nelson taught him how to play “Sweet Home Alabama” on the guitar in just 2 minutes at the 2008 Country Music Association Awards as he had a set with Kid Rock.
