Lil Wayne To Perform Live At The 2023 Grammy Awards For Hip Hop 50th Anniversary

Tomorrow (February 5th), Lil Wayne has been announced as one of the live performers for the 65th annual Grammy Awards at the Crypto.com Arena (formerly known as the Staples Center) in Los Angeles, California.

This year’s GRAMMYs will be honoring hip-hop’s 50th anniversary with a huge performance featuring Weezy, Big Boi, Busta Rhymes with Spliff Star, De La Soul, DJ Drama, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Missy Elliott, Future, GloRilla, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Mele Mel & Scorpio/Ethiopian King, Ice-T, Lil Baby, Method Man, Nelly, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah, Rahiem, Rakim, RUN-DMC, Salt-N-Pepa and Spinderella, Scarface, Swizz Beatz, The LOX, and Too $hort.

The live performance will be directed and produced by Questlove, and LL Cool J will be introducing everyone (as well as performing himself). The music will be provided by The Roots and Black Thought will be narrating.

Be sure to tune into the awards show tomorrow night, which will be streaming live on CBS. It has now been confirmed that one of the songs Tunechi is going to perform is “God Did” with DJ Khaled, JAY Z and Rick Ross!

Over the weekend, Eminem took to social media to reveal his own list of the greatest rappers of all time.

Replying to a tweet from YouTuber NoLifeShaq asking “Who the Greatest Rapper of All-Time?”, Slim Shady mentioned 17 rappers with Lil Wayne‘s name first even though he says the list was in “no particular order”:

“For me, in no particular order… Toss up between wayne, pac, royce, jay, redman, treach, g. rap, biggie & king crook…. Plus redman, LL, nas, joyner, kendrick, cole, andre, rakim, kane…”

So there you have it! Em‘s list of GOAT rappers are: Wayne, Tupac Shakur, Royce Da 5’9″, JAY-Z, Redman, Treach, Kool G Rap, The Notorious B.I.G., Crooked I, LL Cool J, Nas, Joyner Lucas, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Andre 3000, Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane. What are your thoughts on his list?

Preview 2 Unreleased Lil Wayne Songs On A Private Flight

Evan Hernandez, who is a part of Lil Wayne‘s skater crew Sqvad Up, recently shared some footage of himself on Wayne‘s private jet. In the background on the clip, 2 new Weezy songs can be heard playing.

In the first preview, it sounds like the track samples LL Cool J and Jennifer Lopez’ “Control Myself” (the ZihZih part) and Tune can also be heard rapping: “put some respect on Lil Wayne”, which could be a little shot at Birdman and his “Respek” word.

The second song will be a remix as we can hear Tunechi mentioning his popular “remix baby” saying in the sneak peek. You can check out the video of Evan after the jump below!

Lil Wayne Appears On The Front Cover Of XXL Magazine Final Issue Of 2013

To honor hip-hop’s 40-year-anniversary, XXL magazine are celebrating the achievement by releasing collector’s edition covers starring some of the biggest rappers including Lil Wayne.

Other rappers who XXL have chosen to feature on the cover for their last issue of 2013 are: Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Outkast, and LL Cool J. The issue will hit newsstands all over the world on December 31st.
