2 Chainz Recalls Informing Lil Wayne He Won A Grammy Award In 2017 As He Had No Idea At The Time

Earlier this year, 2 Chainz was the special guest on episode 122 of Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson‘s “All The Smoke” podcast.

At the 30:00 mark of their interview, Tity Boi explained how Playaz Circle‘s “Duffle Bag Boy” collaboration with Lil Wayne came together, which all started from selling Birdman and Cash Money Records some weed.

During their convo at the 40:00 mark, Chainz talked about receiving his first ever GRAMMY award for Chance The Rapper‘s “No Problem” single featuring himself and Wayne back in 2017. He says it was a blessing, it was himself who got Tunechi on the song, and he was the one who informed Tune they had won a GRAMMY for the collab as he was somewhere skateboarding and had no idea!

Later on in their conversation at 1:06:40, 2 Chainz named his top 5 rappers of all time dead or alive and Weezy was No. 1 in his list. The rest were: Jay Z, Scarface, Andre 3000, and Tupac Shakur plus The Notorios B.I.G. as a whole. You can check out the full video after the jump below!

Baron Davis Recalls Lil Wayne Hanging Around Him & His Brother Term

For episode 88 of Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson‘s “All The Smoke” podcast, they chopped it up with special guest Baron Davis to reflect on his NBA career, Kobe Bryant, activism, cannabis in sports, and much more.

During their interview at 44:45, Davis recalled how Lil Wayne used to hang around him and his brother Term (El Jefe) all of the time back in the day, and soak all of their stories up. He also called Wayne his “brother still to this day”, as well as revealed he tried to get Weezy and The Game to create a joint The Black Wall Street Records South record label.

If you didn’t already know, Term is reportedly the guy who certified Tunechi as a M.O.B. Piru Blood gang member (Tune has actually shouted him out in songs before and been in videos with him). You can check out Baron‘s full conversation after the jump below!

Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson recently chopped it up with Jayson Tatum for episode 35 of their “All The Smoke” podcast (see below), which is of course the same podcast Lil Wayne appeared on last month.

Around the 54:00 mark of their interview, Jayson was asked about music and went on to name his top 5 music artists. Weezy, who the professional NBA athlete called a G.O.A.T., was mentioned in this list along with JAY-Z, Drake, The Notorious B.I.G., and Nelly.

Not long after this conversation, the Boston Celtics player was asked which music artist he would love to have name-drop him in one of their songs and he answered with Tunechi or Yo Gotti. He then added it would be great to hear Tune reference his name on one of his next mixtapes like a Dedication 7!
