Lil Wayne Wants His Old Lyric Book Back, Sends Legal Threats To The Auction Company

Lil Wayne Wants His Old Lyric Book Back, Sends Legal Threats To The Auction Company

Just over a few weeks ago, we found out that an old notebook containing some of Lil Wayne‘s raps from the Hot Boys era is on the market for $250,000.00. The book, which includes lyrics written by Wayne from when he was 17-years-old, was found in a car that once belonged to Cash Money and it is now being auctioned off through Moments In Time.

According to TMZ, Tunechi has got his attorneys to file a warning letter to the auction company stating the fact that he is the rightful owner of the notepad and he has never agreed to the sale of his pad. In this letter, Tune‘s attorneys say he “never abandoned his notebook”, but just lost it, and even though he is glad it has now been found, he is not happy about it being sold. Weezy claims that the person who found it kept it a secret for all this time, because he wanted to wait for the right opportunity to make money from it.

The founder of Moments In Time, Gary Zimet, reveals that Lil Wayne will have to purchase the notepad from them if he does want it back. Wayne is reportedly fine with doing this, but he’s still threatening legal action if they don’t stop the sale to the public!

Lil Wayne’s Lost Handwritten Lyrics From 1999 On Sale For $250,000

Lil Wayne Lost Handwritten Lyrics From 1999 On Sale For $250,000

According to TMZ, a notebook containing some of Lil Wayne‘s raps from the Hot Boys era is on the market for $250,000.00

As any Tunechi fan should know, Tune does not write any of his verses down anymore since he recorded all of his written work on 10,000 Bars aka SQ7.

The person who owns the book, which includes lyrics from “I Feel” and “We On Fire“, came across it in 1999 (when Weezy was 17-years-old) from inside a car that used to belong to Cash Money Records.

You can view some pictures of this rare collection after the jump below. You will notice the notepad has a bit of water damage – this is because it was close to being destroyed during Hurricane Katrina back in 2005.

I must also add that reading this news reminds me exactly of the time when Wayne sold his Bugatti but forgot to take out the original version of his Tha Carter V album which then ended up being sold to Martin Shkreli!

DVLP Talks Producing Side Bitch, Blunt Blowin, Lil Wayne, Tha Carter 5 & More

Producer DVLP recently chopped it up with Jay-Z’s Life+Times website for an interview, which you can read below.

DVLP discussed producing “Side Bitch“, being a fan of Lil Wayne, Tha Carter V, how he first met Wayne, being one of the first producers to work with him after he was released from Rikers Island, and more.

The producer also mentioned that Tunechi seems to be back to his old self after they had a studio session lately, the “Blunt Blowin’” song came from lyrics that Tune had wrote down while he was locked up, and Rick Ross’ “Rich Forever” track was originally going to be the intro to I Am Not A Human Being II after Weezy laid vocals over the beat!

Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being EP Is Now An Album

Lil Waynes I Am Not A Human Being EP Is Now An Album

Cortez Bryant recently told SPIN that Lil Wayne‘s upcoming I Am Not A Human Being EP will now be a full album. Tez said that the songs on IANAHB were originally going to be on Tha Carter IV, but will be released now so that Weezy can fill C4 with new music instead: “I know once he got out of jail those songs would be so old to him” Bryant explains.

Tez Poe also told SPIN that Wayne has been busy in prison writing down lyrics in a notepad which he will record when he gets out (don’t forget Tunechi hasn’t written anything down since around 2002). Bryant said Wayne will immediately hit the studio once he gets out as well and that he will most likely release another mixtape of new material before releasing Tha Carter IV next year (I’m guessing Dedication 4).

Below, you can read a few highlights from the songs on I Am Not A Human Being which will have heavily auto-tuned vocals, drugged-out beats and loads of guest spots from his YMCMB family:

• “Young Money Salute”, featuring Lil Chuckee, Lil Twist and Nicki Minaj, is a banging, minor-key anthem, with Minaj doling out lines like “Camouflage me ‘cus Young Money is a navy.”

• “I Am Not A Human Being” mixes a heavy boom-bap with distorted guitar riffs–a rock sound similar to the one he tackled on Rebirth.

• “What’s Wrong With Them” crosses choppy synth melodies reminiscent of Wayne’s smash “Lollipop” with Wayne boasting, “Fuck the system and the pussy and all that.”

• “With You”, an R&B-style collaboration with Drake, is a hilarious ballad about seducing a Native-American woman. “Tall glass of Merlot get her in the mode,” he raps. “Two tall glasses of Merlot get her out her robe.”
