Anuel AA Speaks On Lil Wayne Inspiration & Wanting To Be The Spanish Rap Version Of Wayne

Anuel AA sat down with Big Boy for an interview at the end of last year on his Neighborhood show, which you can check out down below.

From the 11:40 mark of their conversation, Anuel recalls watching and learning from Lil Wayne as the best artist in the world to try and be the best artist himself that raps in Spanish. Even though Tunechi was huge in Puerto Rico, AA wanted to replicate everything Tune did but in Spanish.

The Puerto Rican music artist also reflects on Weezy being the number one rapper in the world, putting on the likes of Drake and Nicki Minaj, and taking inspiration from the Young Money CEO: “He was the number one in the world, nobody can tell me nothing else. Lil Wayne No Ceilings Mixtape Goes Number 1 On Apple Music + First Week Sales Projections

After over a decade of first being released, Lil Wayne‘s No Ceilings mixtape has reached No. 1 on Apple Music.

This of course stems from the project being re-released to streaming platforms on Thursday night even with half of the original songs missing.

Tunechi‘s tape actually passed YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Top album in the No. 2 spot, which is a great look for the state of Louisiana. Congratulations Weezy!

In related news, HDD reports No Ceilings is expected to sell 24-27k copies in the first week with around 2-3k of them being in pure sales!
