Lil Wayne Gives An Update On “Tha Carter V”, Talks Lil Weezyana Fest, “Like A Man”, Rapping & More

Lil Wayne Gives An Update On Tha Carter 5, Talks Lil Weezyana Fest, Like A Man, Rapping & More

Like the past two years, Lil Wayne phoned Wild Wayne all the way from Stuttgart, Germany for an interview with New Orleans radio station Q93 to promote his 3rd annual “Lil Weezyana Fest”, which will be taking place next Friday (August 25th).

During their conversation, Tunechi spoke on visiting a dope skate park in Amsterdam, his new Young Money artist Jay Jones, if he ever gets tired of rapping, the “Loyalty” song off In Tune We Trust, Edward Buckles’ tribute documentary on himself, and more.

Weezy also revealed that there will be special guests at this year’s “Lil Weezyana Fest” and Nicki Minaj will be there “if she feels like it”. He event mentioned that “Like A Man” was a song he recorded years ago, but ONHEL re-did the beat, so they decided to put it out.

Of course the interview wouldn’t be complete without Wayne giving an update on his upcoming Tha Carter V album to which he said the project is “ready” and he could release it at any time, but he wants to drop it the right way as us fans deserve that!

ONHEL Talks Working With Lil Wayne, Like A Man, His Recording Process, President Carter & More

Producer ONHEL recently participated in an interview with PigeonsandPlanes over the phone to talk all about his new collaboration with Lil Wayne called “Like A Man“, how it first leaked, and confirm it is a recent recording from this year.

ONHEL also discussed how he first started working with Tunechi back in 2004, what a studio session is like with Tune, making the transition of being an engineer to a record producer, and what Wayne‘s recording process is like.

The producer even revealed that he has around 50 songs with Weezy, but we have only heard a few of them like “Brown Paper Bag“, “Dinnertime“, “President Carter“, “Glory“, and “Like A Man“. He also mentioned that he believes “President Carter” is the only track on Tha Carter IV that was recorded before jail!

Lil Wayne – Dinnertime [Unreleased Tha Carter III Leftover]

Lil Wayne Dinnertime Unreleased Tha Carter 3 Leftover

Wow! Out of nowhere, a new Lil Wayne song has surfaced online called “Dinnertime” that was produced by Onhel.

However, the track was recorded back at the end of 2007 for Tha Carter III, but for an unknown reason it never made the album and has never been put out since.

We’ve actually been knowing about this record for a long time after it was first brought up in Weezy‘s Blender magazine cover story in 2008. This is what was said:

“He [Lil Wayne] instructs his engineer, Darius ‘Deezle’ Harrison, to fire up a new song; as soon as he hears his own music, Wayne grows wild, his slow-mo confidence shoved abruptly aside by a raging, theatrical egotism. The track is called ‘Dinnertime’, in which Wayne compares other rappers to food and then eats them, chewing noises included. Faced with his prodigious skills, he stutter-steps around the room, headbanging with increasing violence. ‘I’m too sick’ he says, revving himself up. ‘Too sick! I don’t even wanna listen to my own shit, because it makes me want to kill somebody!’ The moment the song ends, Wayne bellows at no one in particular: ‘Fuck yo’ favorite rapper!’ He tells Deezle to dial up another track and reiterates his point, stomping his Nikes to emphasize each syllable: ‘FUCK! YO’! FAV! OR! ITE! RAP! PER!'”
