Big Sean Praises Lil Wayne On Social Media, Says He Changed Rap Forever

Big Sean Praises Lil Wayne On Social Media, Says He Changed Rap Forever

While at Power 106’s 2017 Powerhouse concert in San Bernardino on Saturday (May 6th), Big Sean took a photo with Lil Wayne and complimented him on social media by saying Wayne changed rap and hashtagged Tha Carter V.

“Man I’ll never forget what u said bout me on my song ‘Deep’ bro on some real shit. U changed rap 4ever, God bless you! #C5”

Sean is of course talking about Weezy‘s verse on his “Deep” single: “Like this shit is deeper than rap, I cannot say that shit enough times; I feel like Sean don’t get enough shine; Is it because he ain’t got the tattoos? He ain’t throwing up signs? Well let me throw up mine and also let me share this vision of mine; Fuck the finish line, just finish in lines; And if getting your point across crosses the line; Some of the time, then cross it with pride; That’s real my nigga, remember that; It ain’t about if they remember you, they remember rap; So just spit it back and hope somebody diggin’ that, cause this shit is deep.”

Lil Wayne Explains Why Tyler The Creator Changed The Rap Game & Shares An Inspirational Speech About Being Somebody

A couple of weeks ago, Tyler, The Creator released his “Cherry Bomb” documentary. Unfortunately, I have not managed to watch it yet, but I did see a clip online of Lil Wayne‘s part in the doc.

In the clip, Tunechi can be seen explaining why Tyler, The Creator changed the rap game, as well as how people are only hearing Tyler‘s music and not listening to it. Tune also shared some words of wisdom:

“Work hard, be somebody, be something more than what you see in the mirror. Let the world be your mirror, don’t let them judge you, cause the mirror can’t judge you. You judge what you see in the mirror.”

A$AP Rocky Discusses Lil Wayne & How He Has Changed Hip-Hop

ASAP Rocky Discusses Lil Wayne & How He Has Changed Hip-Hop

During A$AP Rocky‘s recent interview with Complex, he spoke about how he feels hip-hop has changed because of rappers like Lil Wayne. You can read a couple of excerpts from the interview below, which will appear in Complex magazine’s December 2012/January 2013 issue!

How do you feel about the culture of hip-hop changing? Lil Wayne is skateboarding now.
That’s dope. I put Wayne in Jay-Z and Kanye’s bracket, in terms of success. Wayne is still fun. Are we forgetting that Wayne made everybody switch their flow up and start using the E’s and R’s, and “I’m ir-regul-ar, seg-ular”? Like, c’mon, are we forgetting that Wayne changed hip-hop, too? Are we forgetting that he made all these motherfuckers want to have tattoos? Are we forgetting that? It wasn’t Wiz, it was Wayne. Wiz did it, too, but I’m just stating facts. This is a guy who fucking went from being the youngest underdog in his crew to saving his company, and saving his “Daddy.” I’m not a fucking Lil Wayne dickrider—I’m just speaking facts.
