Everything You Need To Know About Lil Wayne’s “Velvet Sessions”

Everything You Need To Know About Lil Wayne Velvet Sessions

Last week, an unofficial Lil Wayne project leaked online titled Velvet Sessions, which I did not post on this website for obvious reasons! The project included 9 brand new Wayne songs, plus “Zero“. The majority of them were recorded for Velvet.

If you recall, Mack Maine announced in early 2017 that Weezy will be releasing an album called Velvet, while a Young Money affiliate also hinted at it dropping last year. However, when another Velvet leftover track leaked this summer titled “Deep Sleep“, we got news that the album had been scrapped and will no longer be released.

There is one beautiful song from the Rebirth era on the project that needs to be released officially somehow called “Little Girl’s Eyes“. It is a record from Mr. Carter about his daughter Reginae Carter that samples Lenny Kravitz’ track of the same title. We actually heard a snippet in September that at first we thought could of been “Famous” off Tha Carter V.

Also on the project is a CD quality version of Tunechi‘s freestyle from the Young Money cypher with Karen Civil TV that took place back in 2015. This song is named “HitMan” and it was recorded for Sorry 4 The Wait 2. The intro on Velvet Sessions, which is called “Where My Old Lady“, includes lyrics from Tune talking about “working hard on Tha Carter V”. Lastly, the outro track titled “Who” is a Dedication 6 leftover.

The songs “Weak” and “Tevin” sample SWV’s “Weak” and Tevin Campbell’s “I’m Ready“. For those of you that have managed to hear Lil Wayne‘s unofficial Velvet Sessions, what was your favorite track off the project?

The nominations for the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards show have been announced and Lil Wayne earned a total of 1 nod.

Tunechi was nominated in the “Best Mixtape” category for his D6: Reloaded mixtape, which makes me wonder why his Dedication 6 tape wasn’t nominated either.

This year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards will take place from the The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Florida on October 6th before premiering October 16th at 8PM EST on BET Networks.

You can see who Weezy will be going up against below! The Young Money founder’s artists are also up for awards with Drake earning 11 nods and Nicki Minaj receiving 2 nods. Do you think Dedication 6: Reloaded will win?

Montana Of 300 Praises Lil Wayne, Talks About “Dedication 6” & Remixes [Video]

Montana Of 300 Praises Lil Wayne, Talks About His Remixes & Freestyles

Montana Of 300 recently sat down with DJ Smallz for a one on one interview. In their conversation, the Chicago rapper revealed Lil Wayne is one of his favorite rappers and hearing his “Upgrade U” freestyle off Da Drought 3 for the first time blew him away “mentally”, as well as “motivated the shit” out of him.

Also throughout the interview, which you can check out after the jump below, Montana spoke on Tunechi numerous times and admitted to not hearing all of Dedication 6 just yet, but he is planning on sitting down to listen to it as “an artist”, because Tune is one of the only rappers left who has a different way of thinking outside of the box.

The Chicago rapper even mentioned that no one appreciates real lyricism anymore and the increase of “mumble rap” has stopped the amount of remixes and freestyles from being recorded. For examples, Montana used Weezy‘s “A Milli” and “6 Foot 7 Foot” songs by explaining how no mumble rapper could go and remix them and not actually rap about anything as remixes have always been lyrically better than the original!

Lil Wayne Performs Live At The 35th Annual Adult Video News Awards In Las Vegas In Dedication 6 Apparel

Over the weekend on January 28th, Lil Wayne attended and performed live at the 35th annual Adult Video News (AVN) Awards at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During the first part of his set, Weezy performed “I’m Goin’ In“, “Got Money“, “John“, and “6 Foot 7 Foot” live in some Dedication 6 apparel.

Not long after, Weezy came back out to perform “A Milli“, “Lollipop“, “Mrs. Officer“, “Pop That“, and “The Motto” live.

Tunechi had some help when he started to perform “Pop That” as at least 30 porn stars came up on stage to dance with him while he performed.

“Ayo T Lew, I died and went to heaven”

You can check out some footage from Tune‘s live performance at the “Oscars Of Porn” in a video after the jump below. The ending is hilarious!
