Lil Wayne & Young Money File To Trademark “New Dirty Bastard”

Lil Wayne & Young Money File To Trademark New Dirty Bastard

According to The Blast, who first broke the news that Lil Wayne had finally reached a settlement with Cash Money Records and Universal, Wayne and his Young Money Entertainment record label have applied to trademark “New Dirty Bastard“.

The rival website to TMZ have managed to get a hold of the documents, which shows Weezy and Young Mula have filed to use “New Dirty Bastard” in record and music production, as well as any other entertainment related services.

As you can already see, “New Dirty Bastard” is very similar to Ol’ Dirty Bastard (a rapper who died in 2004 from a drug overdose) and his son’s rap stage name Young Dirty Bastard. The Blast have already spoken to ODB‘s eldest daughter, Taniqua Jones, who revealed that her family are not sure what YM will be doing with “NDB“, but they will always fight to protect their own rights.

However, the family will be more than “willing to work together” with Tunechi and his label once they find out more information. What do you think Tune is trying to trademark “New Dirty Bastard” for? Let me know in the comments section below!

Lil Wayne Emerges Victorious In His Lawsuit Against Birdman, Cash Money & Universal?

Lil Wayne Emerges Victorious In His Lawsuit Against Birdman, Cash Money & Universal

According to The Blast, Lil Wayne has emerged triumphant in his ongoing case with Birdman, Cash Money Records, and Universal Music Group after they say they have obtained the court documents.

The rival website to TMZ reveal Howard King, who is Wayne‘s attorney, filed a notice with the court on May 23rd saying all parties have come to an agreement and are ready to be done with the lawsuit.

Sources tell them that Universal wrote Tunechi a huge check for “well over $10 million” to settle the case and none of the money came from Birdman or CMR.

They also added that Universal were comfortable paying Tune the money, because they believe they will make it all back from Drake and Nicki Minaj profits in the future.

If these court documents are legit then Weezy should now officially be off Cash Money Records and Tha Carter V will be free to drop on Universal!

Lil Wayne Demands The Judge Sanction Birdman Over Having No Accounting Records & Tax Returns From 2011

Lil Wayne Demands The Judge Sanction Birdman Over Having No Accounting Records & Tax Returns From 2011

An update in Lil Wayne‘s ongoing $50 million lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money Records has surfaced and it includes Wayne demanding that the judge punish Baby.

According to The Blast, Tunechi filed a motion on February 21st to compel a presentation of documents from Cash Money relating to Drake and Nicki Minaj as Tune accused Birdman of misleading the court with not turning over the most important documents that he was ordered to produce.

Weezy added that the record label has made over $200 million in profit, but doesn’t have any accounting records or tax returns from 2011: “Unless Cash Money admits to criminal failure to file tax returns for 2011 to present, Cash Money must produce these returns.”

As of right now, the judge in the case has yet to rule on the motion. Also, February 21st is the day that Cortez Bryant revealed they are still fighting on a release for Tha Carter V! Coincidence maybe?

Lil Wayne Loses Quincy Jones III Lawsuit & Has To Pay Him Over $2 Million

Lil Wayne Loses Quincy Jones III Lawsuit & Has To Pay Him Over $2 Million

According to TMZ, Lil Wayne just lost his lawsuit against Quincy Jones III over “The Carter Documentary”, as well as the countersuit Quincy filed against him.

Weezy filed a lawsuit against Quincy Jones III earlier this year claiming that he never gave him permission to use music off his Tha Carter III album for the documentary that Quincy put out called “The Carter“. Quincy also filed a countersuit against Wayne saying that he screwed up the potential profit of the documentary by withdrawing his support for it.

Due to suffering from two seizures, Tunechi did not make an appearance in court for his trial on the day he was supposed to. This then meant Tune‘s lawyer had to show the jury Wayne‘s deposition videotape with Quincy‘s lawyer, Pete Ross, and you all know how serious he took that!

The jury called Lil Wayne‘s behavior in the deposition tape “unreasonable” and “irresponsible”, and also ordered him to pay Quincy $2,195,000. Damn!
