Mack Maine Talks Lil Wayne Wanting To Leave Cash Money, Gives An Update On Tha Carter 5 & Announces A New Weezy Project

The Young Money President Mack Maine called into Miami’s WEDR 99 Jamz radio station yesterday to speak with Felisha Monet about some of the latest subjects involving Lil Wayne, YMCMB, Tha Carter V, and more.

During the conversation, Mack confirmed that Weezy is currently putting finishing touches on his C5 album, it will come in two parts, there is no new release date right now but it will drop in the first quarter of 2015 “for sure”, and until then it’s “Free Tha Carter V”.

Maine also discussed Tunechi‘s tweets about wanting to leave Cash Money Records (says Tune reached his “breaking point”, as well as prays that everything works out and gets resolved asap), the Drake and Diddy fight at LIV nightclub, social media, Tyga wanting to leave Young Mula, and the current artists on YM.

VICE turned 20-years-old yesterday (December 5th), so they decided to host a birthday bash at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York, which was an invite-only event.

Lil Wayne attended this party and also performed live at it. The biggest talk of the evening was that Wayne confirmed his tweets from Thursday about wanting to leave Cash Money are real.

According to Lil Wayne‘s manager and best friend, Cortez Bryant, everything is currently good between Wayne and Cash Money Records. Tez also said that they will not be leaving labels and that Tyga is “good” too.

If you missed the news yesterday, Weezy went on Twitter to announce that Birdman and Cash Money will not let him release his Tha Carter V album, as well as that he wants off the label and nothing to do with them, because he feels like a prisoner.

It’s crazy because in October, Baby mentioned in an interview that he has nothing to do with album push-backs, he lets Tunechi do whatever he wants to do, and he lets him put out an album whenever he wants to. You can read that interview here.
