Don Cannon Explains Why Lil Wayne Cannon Changed His Life & Reveals He Has An Unreleased Version Of The Song

DJ Bootleg Kev sits down with the Generation Now record label founders DJ Drama, Leighton “Lakeshow” Morrison and Don Cannon for episode 38 of the “The Bootleg Kev Podcast”.

During their conversation, Don reveals what beat he thinks changed his life as a music producer, which he goes on to say the “Cannon” record on Lil Wayne‘s Dedication 2 mixtape.

While discussing the process behind “Cannon” (watch below), the Philadelphia native says Trick Daddy, Bohagon and Busta Rhymes all originally had the instrumental before Weezy.

He even mentions that he has an unreleased version of the track with Tunechi rapping over the beat for 3 minutes straight, so I wonder if we will ever get to hear that? Drama also added that “Cannon” was the last song Tune recorded for D2.

Episode 3 of BET’s “Music Moguls” reality television series starring Birdman, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, and Dame Dash aired in the week. You can check out the full ep below.

During the episode at the 17:00 mark, Baby revealed that he will be doing one more solo album called Family or My Familia and when asked by his daughter Bria if Lil Wayne will be featured, he answered “definitely”.

Birdman also mentioned that he still wants to do a Like Father Like Son 2 album with Tunechi, as well as said Tune is his “son forever” and is someone he loves, raised and would die for!

Lil Wayne and Drizzy Drake performed live on the final stop of their joint tour at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas last night.

As nearly everyone predicted, there was no winner out of Tune and Drizzy‘s battle as it was another tie, which makes the total score of the whole tour 17-17.

On September 11th, Lil Wayne performed live in Woodlands, Texas at the Woodlands Pavilion for the final stop on his “I Am Still Music” tour. In the video above, Tunechi pays tribute to the victims of 9/11: “As a black man, it’s kinda tough to root for the home team given what we went through for this motherfucking home team, but I still can proudly say I am a motherfucking American”, as well as bringing out his blood brother Game to sing the “My Life” chorus.
