Tyga Discusses Not Knowing Whether You Are Going To Get A Lil Wayne Verse Or Mixtape Weezy Verse For A Feature

Last month, Tyga was the special guest on TIDAL‘s “Car Test” video series to promote his latest album, Legendary.

While driving Elliott Wilson around Beverly Hills in his 2019 Rolls Royce Cullinan, Ty spoke on how he came up with the “Lightskin Lil Wayne” song and how you never know if you’re going to get a “Lil Wayne verse” or a “Mixtape Weezy” verse when you send him a beat for a feature.

T-Raww mentioned he has never been around a superstar until Wayne signed him as an artist to Young Money, he very much looks up to Tunechi, how Tune is committed to who he is, his message and lyrics, and how he was happy he got “Mixtape Weezy” on his “On Me” song.

Also during their conversation, Tyga recalled Weezy doing a show at a music venue that was 500 capacity and it being full to where people were standing on top of each other, to then performing at arenas a couple of months later. You can check it all out after the jump below. Enjoy!

Onhel Releases A 10 Song Mixtape Weezy Turns X Project

Grammy nominated music producer and engineer Angel “Onhel” Aponte, who works a lot with Lil Wayne in the studio, released a new mixtape on New Year’s Day to celebrate “Mixtape Weezy“.

Onhel dropped a 10-track project called Mixtape Weezy Turns X, which includes classic Tunechi verses from years back over new beats, so I guess you can call them remixes or mash-ups.

These classic Tune verses include: “We Takin’ Over“, “Hard Body“, “Something You Forgot“, “Live From 504“, “Gossip“, “Zoo“, “La La La“, “Did It Before“, “David Banner“, and “I Feel Like Dyin’“. Hit the jump to check out Onhel‘s Mixtape Weezy Turns X tape!

DJ Drama Speaks On Dedication 6 & The Lil Wayne Feature On His Quality Street Music 2 Album

DJ Drama recently did an interview with HipHop-N-More and during their conversation, Drama discussed the Lil Wayne feature on his upcoming Quality Street Music 2 album and updated us on Dedication 6.

The disc jockey explained that he gave Wayne the beat for “Intro” while he was at Tree Sound Studios in Georgia and the bars that “mixtape Weezy” rapped on the song are “amazing”.

Drama also confirmed that there will be a Dedication 6 mixtape from himself and Tunechi, but gave no more details about a release. You can read what the disc jockey said after the jump below!

Jadakiss Announces Kill Collaboration With Lil Wayne & Reveals Lyrics

Jadakiss has announced the official tracklisting and shared a pre-order link for his forthcoming album, Top 5 Dead Or Alive (T5DOA), due to be released on November 20th.

On the project, Lil Wayne will be featured on track #6 that is titled “Kill“. Back in 2013, Kiss also revealed that this Wayne feature is “vintage Weezy”, as well as “mixtape killer Weezy”.

In a recent interview, G-Eazy spoke on how DJ Carnage‘s I Like Tuh” remix featuring himself and Lil Wayne came together, which you can check out below.

G-Eazy explained that it’s a dream come true for him to say that he is on a song with Wayne and remembers back to when he was listening to “mixtape Weezy” growing up.

The California rapper also mentioned that he last met Tunechi at Alexander Wang’s after-party earlier this month and how excited he was at that moment. He even stated that Tune “is a hero”!
