Lil Wayne Compares Rapping To Skateboarding, What His Goals Are In Skating & More [Video]

Above, you can watch Network A’s “dose” recap of what went down at the grand opening of Lil Wayne‘s “Trukstop” skate park in the Lower 9th Ward Village of New Orleans last week. The clip shows footage of Weezy cutting the ribbon, the Mountain Dew skate team, and everyone testing out the new skate park by having a little skating session themselves.

After Tunechi‘s skating session, “dose” spoke with him about how his skateboarding lifestyle compares to his music lifestyle, what his goals are with skating, and more. Professional skaters Paul Rodriguez and Theotis Beasley also chatted to “dose” about what it is like to be attending an event like this, Wayne‘s relationship with skating, what they learned from Wayne from listening to his music over the past 10 years, if they are more of a friend or fan to Wayne, and more!

Lil Wayne Cuts The Ribbon To Open His Skate Park In New Orleans [Videos]

Yesterday, Lil Wayne cut the ribbon to open his Trukstop skate park that he helped build along with Mountain Dew in the Lower 9th Ward Village of New Orleans, Louisiana, which was the worst place Hurricane Katrina hit back in 2005. You can watch a video above and two clips after the jump of Weezy having fun at the skate park grand opening, as well as delivering a speech to the people who attended!

Tune talked about why he started skateboarding and explained the reason behind wanting to build a skate park in his city New Orleans. After giving his speech, Wayne had a little skating session himself at the Trukstop skate park with professional skaters Paul Rodriguez and Theotis Beasley.

Photos From T.I. & Lil Wayne Ball Video Shoot In New Orleans

T.I. is getting ready to release his new single “Ball” featuring Lil Wayne in October, which will appear on his upcoming Trouble Man album, due out December 18th. The King Of The South and the Best Rapper Alive shot a music video for the single on September 24th in Wayne‘s hometown, Hollygrove, New Orleans. Cameos in the Marc Klasfeld directed-visual will include appearances from: Birdman, Mack Maine, Trae Tha Truth and the producer of the song, Rico Love.

If you are wondering why Tip and Weezy shot the video in New Orleans, it is because “Ball” samples the N.O. bounce record “Triggaman“, so it was only right to. You can view some pictures from the video shoot and listen to a preview of the single after the jump below, courtesy of HHNM.

Tunechi is staying in New Orleans all this week, because later today he will be cutting the ribbon and opening his new skate park in the Lower 9th Ward Village that he built in partnership with Mountain Dew. Plus he will be celebrating his 30th birthday tomorrow with his family!
